Inez Blackburn is a globally recognized speaker and industry leader, innovator and pioneer in launching global brands with over 25 years experience. She has worked with many Fortune 500 companies and led numerous executives through her Positioned for Profit Seminars and Marketing to the Max Workshops. She has been on the Dean’s list for excellence in teaching for 10 years and is a featured trainer at numerous executive events. Her first book Pride Passion Profit – 7 Steps to Category Development was released January 2010 and is well positioned to help companies develop rather than manage their categories and relationships.

Inez Blackburn is currently the President of Market Techniques & Innovations Inc and an Adjunct professor at the University of Toronto, Wright State University, S.P. Jain University in Singapore and Dubai.

Prior to becoming an Adjunct Professor and Global Trainer, Inez was the Vice President of Marketing for Cott Corporation where she was responsible for developing and launching Global Private label Brands for major retailers in Canada, the United States, Europe.

Brian Hume

Brian Hume is President and founder of Martec International, a leading retail consulting and training practice.  He is respected as an authority on retailing and retail technology and has consulted to companies in North and South America, the UK, Europe and Asia Pacific. 

Brian’s core consulting areas are sales and inventory management, supply chain management, store operations and the use of technology to improve business performance.  His clients cover most retail segments.  In addition to the retail community, Brian has worked with manufacturers, financial institutions, wholesalers, telecommunications suppliers, computer manufacturers and software houses who need to understand and market to the retail industry.

Brian graduated in Mathematics and moved into retailing following two years in brewing and ten years with a leading consulting company and systems integrator.

Antony Karabus

Antony and his leadership team are very proud of the close, trusted advisor-type relationships they have developed with their clients. Antony has coached and led numerous retail executives through the crucial changes in thinking needed to execute change initiatives to meaningfully improve financial performance by surfacing key organizational and operational issues to Senior Executives to then develop near-win strategies to positively impact the client’s financial performance. He has overseen dozens of major financial performance improvement initiatives at national chain retailers ranging from corporate-wide SG&A Cost Optimization initiatives to inventory productivity (turns and in-stock improvements), Merchandise Margin optimization to IT effectiveness and Store Operations and Supply Chain improvements. Antony spent eight years with an international consulting firm, where his last role was leading their Toronto Profit Improvement consulting practice. While at the firm, much of his work was with national retailers. This experience led to the formation of Karabus Management in 1990.

Tiffany Mawhinney

Tiffany Mawhinney is a Manager with Deloitte’s Retail team and joined the firm in 2004. Tiffany was with the Strategy & Operations Consulting arm of the firm starting as a Senior Consultant after completion of her MBA. With over 15 years of work experience in retail operations, marketing strategy focusing on merchandising, customer and store experience and supply chain strategy, Tiffany has serviced retailers in the areas of supply chain strategy, business transformation, performance improvement, transactional pricing, and merchandising effectiveness. She is currently doing a Management Development Program with the leader of Deloitte’s Retail Sector focusing on strategic planning and operations. Before joining Deloitte, Tiffany completed her MBA at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill, Kenan-Flagler Business School, with a concentration in Global Supply Chain and International Business, during this time she also completed a diploma in Luxury Brand Management from ESSEC University in France. Prior to her MBA, she worked in store operations and visual merchandising for two retailers, Gap Inc and La Senza Inc for nearly eight years in various locations, including the United Kingdom and Canada. Her undergraduate degree was in Political Science from Memorial University of Newfoundland in Canada. She has also completed a graduate management diploma from McGill University.

Stefania Pinton

Stefania has been a partner at Dionco Inc. since 2002. Her in-depth knowledge of the retail industry gained in almost 25 years of working with some of the largest retail companies in the world along with her international background have greatly contributed to making Dionco a firm of national as well as international standing. Stefania’s expertise covers a broad spectrum of strategic planning, concept development, and performance optimization in the areas of human resources, store operations and training and development. Traveling internationally, she was exposed to diverse culture and business practices which contributed to broadening her understanding of global business issues and opportunities. At Dionco, Stefania works on human resources management consulting, instructional material design and development, retail and consumer trends reviews as well as retail best practices research and market studies. Some of the clients she has worked for include Sam’s Wines & Spirits, Healthy Back, HoneyBaked Ham, Harley-Davidson, TitleMax, Ritz-Carlton, Louisville Tile Distributors, Williams-Sonoma and NARTA.

Tom Rittman

Tom Rittman is the vice president of Marketing for The Retail Equation. In this role, he is responsible for the organization’s branding, demand generation, marketing research and communications, as well as product marketing. Prior to joining The Retail Equation, Rittman served as the vice president of marketing for Datavantage, the retail technology subsidiary of Micros Systems Inc., where he was responsible for the organization’s marketing strategy, development and execution. Before joining Datavantage, he held various marketing leadership positions with TMW Systems and Roadway Express. Rittman holds his bachelor’s degree in Marketing from the University of Akron.

Melissa A Schaefer

Melissa is a VP of Client Services for GSI Commerce, an eBay company. She has over 20 years of experience with clients in the retail industry, having held various leadership positions in retail as well as IBM. In her current role, Melissa is responsible for the vision, strategy and financial growth for the Midwest region. She leads the Midwest region which includes omnichannel retail experts that have deep domain knowledge around ecommerce, mobile, social, customer engagement and fulfillment.

Marc Serrano
ARS Interactive


After a brief stint in academia, Marc joined ARS Interactive in March of 2000. Since joining ARS Interactive, Marc’s primary experience has been in content management systems as well as working on data integration with various ecommerce platforms. From creating content to implementing new systems to meet retail client needs, Marc has worked in almost every aspect of content management. His most significant accomplishment has been managing the creation of Software as a Service solution for ARS Interactive clients. Marc holds a PhD in Political Science from the Claremont Graduate School and is married with two beautiful daughters.
