PCI Resource Center

PCI Resource CenterWhat is PCI Compliance?
The Payment Card Industry (PCI) Security Standards Council has created a set of mandates for any merchant that accepts credit/debit cards. All businesses which hold, process, or pass cardholder information from any card brand (Visa, MasterCard, Discover, AMEX, JCB) are bound by these requirements. Albeit NRF’s position is that PCI compliance was created to cover up flaws in the card brand’s payment system, we want to inform and educate the extended retail industry on becoming compliant. Here are a few resources to help with that:

Merchant's "Bill of Rights"
The Merchant Bill of Rights promotes fair credit, debit and prepaid card processing practices on behalf of owners of small and mid-sized businesses.

Certified Solution Providers
For small to mid-size retailers that needs assistance identifying a PCI Compliant POS system.

Online PCI Compliance Courses
NRF University wired, the NRF Foundation’s online learning platform, offers courses on credit card security and PCI compliance.

PCI Security Standards Council
The council provides, among other things, more information about the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS).

Credit Card Processors
These processors offer a fully integrated, secure payment processing platform and act as a payment gateway and acquirer.   EPX   |   Heartland Payment Systems   |   First Data
