Tips for Posting a Successful Submission

Based upon our experience over the past year, the following are some tips for posting successful materials in the Retail Reference Center.

A Benchmark for Success

Grant Thornton’s white paper Reviving Retail was posted last summer and quickly proved to be a popular link. During the initial posting period in July-August 2009, the paper was viewed over 600 times and visitors spent an average of over 4 minutes on the page. Several retailers and associate members chose to “forward to a friend.”

Success bred success. The attention the paper received in the Retail Reference Center prompted the NRF to post the paper on NRF’s homepage and in SmartBrief. On several days following the homepage posting, Reviving Retail garnered the majority of all click-throughs on the NRF site.

Success Drivers

Why was this paper so successful?  The success drivers below are culled from comments from the Reference Center’s Peer Review team concerning the Grant Thornton and other successful papers posted over the past year:

When submitting content for the Retail Reference Center, please compare your submission with the success drivers above.  The more closely aligned they are, the better chance of success your submission has in reaching your audience.
