Industry Veteran Mike Linton Selected to Retail Advertising Hall of Fame
Washington, January 30, 2008 – The Retail Advertising and Marketing Association, a division of the National Retail Federation, announced today that Michael Linton, Chief Marketing Officer of eBay, has been voted into the Retail Advertising Hall of Fame. Linton will be inducted during the RACie awards ceremony at the Retail Advertising Conference on February 7 in Chicago.
“This year’s Retail Advertising Conference centers around creating ideas that stick," said Mike Gatti, Executive Director of the Retail Advertising and Marketing Association. “I can think of no better executive to induct into the Hall of Fame this year than Mike Linton, whose career has been defined by one sticky idea after another.”
Prior to joining eBay in December 2006, Linton served as the Chief Marketing Officer for Best Buy and oversaw several marketing programs like the launch of the Geek Squad and the company’s exclusive deal with the Rolling Stones. Linton serves on the Board of Directors for Peet's Coffee and Tea company and the Allen Edmonds Shoe Company. A native of Ohio, he earned his bachelor's degree from Bowling Green State University and his Master's from Duke University. He lives in the San Francisco Bay Area with his wife and two children.
