New Conference to Help Retailers Tackle Data Security Issues
-RSR Research and the National Retail Federation Launch New Executive Conference: Customer Data Security Executive Meeting-

September 19, 2007 – RSR Research and the National Retail Federation (NRF) today announced an event aimed at retailers striving toward enhanced security of their customers’ sensitive information and PCI Compliance.

“As the threat of security breaches loom, retailers are looking for practical insights into how to help protect their customers’ sensitive information,” stated NRF Chief Information Officer Dave Hogan. “This event is designed to help retailers deal with the challenges and realities of PCI compliance and discuss new ways to secure data.”

This high-level event will provide attendees with the information, practices, and solutions needed to elevate the PCI Compliance discussion within their own organization - an absolutely vital component to a successful PCI program.

“Retailers will learn from expert speakers who can help retailers ease the pain and process of becoming compliant,” says Steve Rowen, partner at RSR Research. “Presenters will address the issue from all necessary areas of expertise, including retailers, financial experts, academics, and high-profile breach attorneys. The entire schedule is designed for retail executives to learn and share successful practices and ideas about how they can safeguard themselves against a breach, take actionable measures to align IT and LOB internal resources and best practices for recovery should security be compromised.”

Unlike other security conferences, this meeting focuses exclusively on the retail industry and specifically targets the immediate challenges retailers face.   The Customer Data Security Executive Meeting is also presented in partnership with VISA USA, the primary driver of the Payment Card Industry’s (PCI) data security standard, which outlines guidelines for how retailers safeguard customers’ data. The event will be held November 15-16 at the Green Valley Ranch Resort and Spa in Las Vegas. Attendance is limited.
