Schwarzenegger for Veto of Controversial Menu Labeling Bill Release Date: October 15, 2007 The National Council of Chain Restaurants applauded Saturday’s veto of California Senate Bill 120 by Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger. The bill would have forced chain restaurants with at least fourteen locations to post calories beside each regular food item on their menu boards. It also would have required those restaurants to provide information about calories, saturated fat and trans fat, carbohydrates and levels of sodium on hand-out menus. |
