Biography:

J. Craig Shearman joined NRF in 2001 as senior director for government affairs media relations. He became vice president for government affairs public relations in 2003. He is responsible for the development and implementation of communication strategy for the NRF Government Relations Department and is the editor of Washington Retail Insight, NRF's weekly government affairs newsletter.

Prior to joining NRF, Shearman spent more than six years on Capitol Hill as Press Secretary to U.S. Representative Marge Roukema, R-N.J., chairwoman of the House Subcommittee on Financial Institutions. He was previously Director of Communications for the New Jersey Business and Industry Association and spent 14 years as a reporter and editor, including four years at United Press International.

Shearman majored in mass communications at Salisbury State University and studied feature film production at New York University. He is a member of the Public Relations Society of America.
