Biography:

Carleen Kohut was named NRF’s Chief Operating Officer in 2010. Kohut is a member of NRF’s executive staff which is responsible for the execution of NRF’s strategic mission. As COO, Kohut is responsible for the operations of NRF’s revenue generating activities as well as internal support operations. Kohut continues to serve as NRF’s Chief Financial Officer, a position she has held since 2000, with primary responsibility for the development and implementation of NRF’s $35 million budget.

Kohut also serves as NRF’s liaison to the retail industry’s senior financial executives. In this capacity she works with industry leaders to exchange information, create benchmarks, and develop forums for education and research.

Prior to joining NRF, Kohut served as CFO and senior financial executive for trade associations in the telecommunications and natural gas industries. Prior to that she was a supervisor in Ernst & Young’s (formerly Ernst & Whinney) public utility group.

Kohut graduated from Lynchburg College with a degree in accounting and holds an MBA from Marymount University.
